How to read this result
- Compare the estimated tax under the two options. The lower figure applies only to the income and deductions you entered.
- Tax already taken from payments is not your final tax bill. Some income types and reliefs are not included.
- Check the tax year and your figures with a tax adviser before filing or paying.
Calculation details and sources
No section 87A rebate or resident senior-citizen slab is applied. Resident-only 80DD, 80DDB, 80U and 80TTB deductions are excluded.
The legacy deduction labels 80C / 80CCC / 80CCD(1), additional 80CCD(1B), 80D and 80TTA map to current sections 123 / Schedule XV, 124(3)–(4), 126 and 153 respectively. These eligible personal deductions apply only to the old regime in this model. Employer NPS, 80E, donations, special deductions and foreign tax credits need separate computation.
Enter a confirmed gross annual value for rent, not automatically rent collected. Only owner-paid municipal tax actually paid is deducted; then the statutory 30% deduction and interest. Actual maintenance is not deducted again.
Old-regime house-property loss set-off against other covered income is capped at ₹2 lakh. New-regime loss is not set off here. Carry-forward, co-ownership, deemed rent and prior-year adjustments require review.
Dividends, capital gains, special-rate interest, Chapter XII-A elections, business income and treaty overrides are excluded. TDS and advance tax are payments on account, not the final liability. Interest, late fees and statutory return rounding are not calculated.
