How to read this result

  1. Compare your expected savings with the retirement amount you need. A gap means your plan needs more money.
  2. Higher living costs, taxes or lower investment returns can make your money run out sooner.
  3. Try saving more, spending less or retiring later. Check pension dates and major family costs before relying on the result.
Calculation details and sources

Use returns and pension cash flows after your own estimated taxes and fees. No withdrawal rate is guaranteed safe.

Contributions occur at year end; the first is not increased. Retirement expenses rise from today to retirement and throughout the horizon. In the basic estimate pension starts in retirement. The optional household timeline uses your confirmed pension start age and separately dated additional income.

The basic required corpus discounts annual shortfalls and does not reinvest surplus pension. The household timeline reinvests income above spending and treats the discounted spending amount as a benchmark; assess feasibility from actual unmet spending and access dates. The balance is shown as zero after funds run out; an unmet need remains.

Add healthcare, parents’ support, education, major purchases and relocation in the optional household timeline, using separate dates and inflation assumptions. Review NRE redesignation, foreign pensions and the timing of first receipts with a CA before returning.
