How to read this result
- Compare the savings you expect to have with the amount you need. A shortfall means the plan needs more money.
- Some money may be locked away when you need it. Check pension dates, withdrawals and major family expenses.
- Try higher costs or lower returns to see how the plan changes. Results are estimates, not guarantees.
Method, country coverage and limitations
The basic estimate uses one investment pool in your savings currency. Optional detailed asset rows replace it and keep separate returns, currencies and access ages. Convert assets, debts and optional income to that currency before entering totals. Local retirement budgets are divided by your entered exchange rates to calculate in the savings currency. Daily reference rates are provided by ExchangeRate-API when available. They are indicative, not executable bank quotes. Manual rates and currency-cost growth remain your planning assumptions; the latter separately models future spending pressure. The household timeline models asset-specific returns and dated family costs; its annual table separates accessible funds, locked funds and unmet spending. Contributions occur at year end; the first annual contribution is 12 times your monthly saving. Withdrawals occur at year end. In the household timeline, income above spending is reinvested in the contribution bucket; the basic estimate does not reinvest this surplus. Funds running out means a year-end shortfall; actual cash may run out earlier.
Conservative assumptions reduce both returns by 2 percentage points and raise inflation by 1 point. Optimistic assumptions do the reverse. These are stress scenarios, not probabilities. The basic required fund discounts net withdrawals and includes the one-off retirement cost. In a detailed household plan this is a spending benchmark using the general retirement return; actual funding feasibility uses each asset’s own return and access date. Review unmet spending and bridge gaps. Additional tests reorder the same poor returns early or late and model medical, rental, inflation and FX shocks.
Every country can use an entered tax allowance. Only the explicitly confirmed UAE domestic personal-income-tax treatment is built in. Slabs, regional taxes, residency transitions, RNOR eligibility, treaties, pension account rules and future legislative changes require a country-specific review. Country reference guidance reviewed 13 September 2026. Household planning model updated 14 October 2026. Future tax is an assumption, not a prediction.
